After the exam which took me about 1 1/2 hours... at about 12:30 I had lunch with Rekah (a friend from school. I don't think I spelled her name correctly though) at the MSB (Medical Science Building. I also work at a lab there with my dad). She was late but once she got there, we just sat there until around 3:30 or so and talked. I don't really know how I feel about what she told me today. The fact that her best friend is a lesbian/bi. Before watching Dark Angel, I never even comprehended the fact how a girl could be friends (let along best friends) with a lesbian. It's not that I have anything against homosexual people. I really don't...it's up to them what they chose for themselves. Just that...I really don't know. There will always be a comfort level with people and this for me is just past that. I can understand because it could be just like having a guy for a friend. But there are just always risks er... issues at least to being friends with someone who's homosexual. One thing I learned today is I should watch what I say in public. From that one time that I was with Omar, when I said pretty loudly at the gym "You tell me, what's wrong with Russians?" (we were just talking about how we like Russians) to just when I casually talk to my friends and crack jokes sometimes about people who are "gay". I didn't realize that some people would be offended by what I say...well actually did...just that I don't think about it too much. I mean just today, I found out a guy that I thought was "straight like a stick" was actually bi. There are so much that I can learn. I wonder if I can even get about 1% of the knowledge in the world.
Zhen might not be going to the Chinese picnic we are having somewhere in the Mason area tomorrow. It's all stupid really. The main reason is because his mom (who happens to be my god-mother...going on mother-in-law LOL) won't let him. She's afraid basically what other people would think. Even today, she ask Chen's mom if Chen (just a neighbor) was going to be going to the picnic like two times. Zhen's mom is actually worried about him...she's afraid that he will get a bad reputition because he is "dating" me. Well...he isn't really dating me. But she doesn't want other people to think so if we aren't really dating or going "steady". Even my dad is kinda worried about that. He asked Chen's mom today as well if he was going. I feel sorry for Chen though. He is kinda caught up in all this mess. It's not like my god-mother or dad care about him. They just want to know if he is going to going so that Zhen won't look bad. I think Zhen wants to go. Actually all I have to do is tell him that I want him to go and he would. But I don't want him to defy his mother like that. That's why I told him that he should do what she says... However, I don't think I'll have that much fun if he doesn't go. There probably won't be anyone that I know and it'll be boring if I have to meet new people.
I'm kind of worried about my face right now. The truth is that I have had a mild-moderate form of acne ever since puberty sneaked up on me. About a year ago I went to a dermatologist and she gave me a prescription for two topicals and one oral medicine. It really helped clear up my skin. But like all good things...it came to an end (the prescription I mean). So for the past like three months or so I haven't used any medicine for my face except using a good soap the doc recommended for me. Lately probably cuz my cycle is screwed up (My guess is that it's stuck at one place which the hormones causes acne)...I have been getting really bad bumps on my face. The first ones that came up was probably because of the benzine I used to try to cover up the first big bump on my chin. Now my chin is full of them. I think I was brought up to believe that those people who don't have clear faces are dirty and nasty people. Well, now I look in the mirror...and it really disgusts me. I can't believe why people even want to be friends or like me now. Truth be told, I don't even want to got to the picnic tomorrow becuase of my face. I'm afraid that I'll embarrase my parents. Funny huh?
